Empowering Young Creatives
Teaching Youth to See with Purpose
Our photography club introduces students to the power of visual storytelling through hands-on learning in photography and video. Led by working creatives, the program builds technical skills, artistic confidence, and a strong sense of community. From capturing everyday life to documenting local stories, students learn to see their world in new ways—while gaining tools they can use in school, careers, and beyond. We've partnered with schools and community organizations across the region, offering a flexible, engaging program that meets young people where they are.

Our Story
The photography club began at Colin Powell Academy with one goal: to give students a fun and creative outlet to express themselves and connect with their world. What started as an after-school passion project quickly grew into something more—an opportunity to build confidence, sharpen creative thinking, and empower youth through the lens of photography and video.
Led by working artists and media professionals, the program introduces students to real-world skills in a hands-on, supportive environment. Whether they’re documenting their school, exploring their neighborhood, or capturing personal stories, students learn that their perspectives matter—and that creativity is a powerful tool for both self-expression and community impact.
Today, we’re proud to bring this vision to more schools, rec centers, and community programs—one snapshot at a time.
Program Highlights
"This is more than photography—it’s empowerment.
Our program gives students a voice, a vision, and the tools to tell their story. They don’t just take pictures—they gain confidence, build community, and learn skills that last a lifetime. When students see the value in their own perspective, the entire school feels the impact.
Invest in their vision." - Jordan Shack Lead Photographer
